Okay, there is no one from Lesotho that you would have heard of. Moshoeshoe was a great king and a model leader who founded this country, but no one outside Lesotho has heard of him. Lesotho has a strong connection with the House of Windsor, but the Royal family hasn't visited since I have been here.
South Africa is our closest connection. There are some people we all know are from South Africa, but some you didn't know where born here.

J. R. R. Tolkien- born in Bloemfontein, our closest city.
Dave Matthews- Jo'burg
Charlize Theron- Jo'burg
Basil Rathbone- famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, among others
Ladysmith Black Mumbazo - the group started in the town of Ladysmith
Nelson Mandela- totally obvious, but still good to list
Desmond Tutu- Strongest connection to SA, but he was also the Archbishop of Lesotho for a time
People with a strong connection to the area:
Ghandi- lived in South Africa during the Boer wars, just north of Lesotho
Winston Churchill- started to make his mark during the same war. They were in the same battle just North of here.
